Poe & Associates was first hired to complete a pilot plant study for the use of a microfiltration system in McCurtain County. After this study was approved by the Department, Poe then continued the project to the next phase, which included the design of a new water treatment plant for this large water district in southeast Oklahoma. The project consisted of a new membrane filtration water treatment plant, new above ground clearwell, new 16 inch diameter transmission line, a new 30 foot diameter by 100 foot tall, welded steel standpipe, two new booster pump stations, and modifications to an existing booster pumping station.

The new water treatment plant included a new raw water intake structure, new flow splitting structure, new flocculating clarifier, new treatment building with membrane filtration units and carbon filters, new high service pumps, new sludge holding lagoon, and sludge removal and disposal from existing lagoons.
