John Kilpatrick Turnpike Inspection

John Kilpatrick Turnpike Inspection

Oklahoma CIty, Oklahoma

Poe & Associates was selected to be the Resident Engineers and Construction Inspectors for the widening of the John Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City. The project consisted of eight miles of highway widening from four to six lanes and nine bridge modifications. The $50M construction project was completed utilizing over 10 different contractors to meet the accelerated construction timeline. Poe worked directly with the contractors to provide answers for RFI’s, submittals, field changes, construction issues, etc. in a timely manner so not to impact or delay the construction.

Poe supervised several critical aspects of this project that were constructed for the first time ever in the State of Oklahoma, including the reconfiguration of the pier and bridge beams on the Hefner Flyover. In addition to providing onsite construction management, Poe also provided daily and weekly progress reports, conducted bi-weekly progress meetings, calculated monthly pay estimates, prepared change order and supplemental agreement documents, and provided record drawings of the project.
