David Murdock, P.E.

David, aka “Doc”, worked in the Government Sector for 32 years prior to joining Poe and Associates. Starting out in the Bridge Division with ODOT he designed bridge structures, retaining walls, and foundations for specialty projects like radio towers. A brief stint in the Planning Division as the first Scoping Coordinator provided insight into the environmental process and a healthy understanding of the other work units at ODOT. In all David worked at ODOT for 15 years prior to joining the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority as the Maintenance Engineer. During 17 years at OTA, he worked in Administration of Maintenance and Engineering Divisions before ending his career as the Assistant Executive Director – Maintenance, Engineering, and Construction. Throughout his time at OTA, he had management responsibility for the Capital Project Program and bond funded projects including the Creek and Kilpatrick Turnpike capacity expansion projects in 2009 and the Driving Forward Program in 2015.

Now at Poe and Associates, David has a variety of tasks including designing bridges, reinforced concrete boxes, retaining walls and other structures; working on city paving projects; and providing guidance concerning management of major transportation projects from the government administrator point of view.
